About Frame & Shoelace

I created Frame & Shoelace to provide a comfortable space where you can process conflicting emotions, challenging relationships, traumatic experiences, and navigate life’s transitions and opportunities. It’s not a clinic, it’s not a medical setting, it’s just a cozy room in a cool building where focus on you is all that we do.

It’s important to feel aligned with your therapist and to work with one whose style supports your growth. I don’t just sit and stare, but I will give you space to find your words. I ask a lot of questions, but I understand if you don’t always have the answers. Quiet can be productive. Chatter and laughter can be too. I learn from your stories, I offer alternative perspectives. Sometimes we pull the lens out to see outside the frame, sometimes we focus in to analyze detail. The point is to access what creates forward movement, even if that is simply acceptance. In non-therapist terms, the point is to feel better, even if that just means being okay with not being okay.

it’s not the large things that

send a man to the

madhouse…

…no, it’s the continuing series of small tragedies

that send a man to the

madhouse…

not the death of his love

but a shoelace that snaps

- Charles Bukowski, “The Shoelace”
